Club Night Players: mark your calendars!  The IGA Club Night Year-End Bash is on 22 Sep on the Brunssummerheide Par 3 Course.  First Tee-time is 1630, so be early to register.

Registration is 3 Euros, which will go toward closest to the pin on three holes, and any skins.

At the registration table, you will select your choice of pizza from the Pizzeria Trattoria Il Genio menu.  After the round, pizza and drinks will be served at the Bavaria Kellar on NAB Geilenkirchen.

As we didn't have a year end bash last year, this invitation is open to attendees from both years.  Below is a list of people who attended this year and who are automatically invited.  I may have missed a few, so don't be shy: if your name is not on the list and you attended Club Night in the past two years, please show up and enjoy the last Club Night of the year!

17th INTERNATIONAL LIBERATION CUP (OPEN)

In commemoration of the end of World War II
 
Date:  Saturday, 25th September 2010
Formula: Stableford (0-12, 13-18, 19-28, 29-36)

Dear Golfers,

By commemoration of the end of World War II and the Liberation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 1945 by the Allied Forces, the GOLF CLUB OF CLERVAUX will again be organizing the upper mentioned golf tournament at the panoramic golf course of Clervaux (GD. of Luxembourg) thus concentrating golf players from American, Canadian and European golf clubs, NATO, the Allied Forces and possibly from the eastern countries.
According to the first edition held in 1994, this international golf competition is scheduled to demonstrate our commitment and relationship to keep peace with other nations and provide needed support around the world.
Since most of the former participants have been all impressed by the golf course of Clervaux and the fine competition which was attended by high ranking representatives of the Allied Forces, we kindly solicit again your well appreciated presence at the 2010 edition.

The program of the tournament will be as follows:
08.30 Start of the competition (flights of 3-4 golf players)
 
15.00 Putting competition for non-golfers
 
19.00 Prize giving ceremony
 
Registration fee per competitor: 58. -€   Including greenfee, competition registration

Above is the Golf Club Clervaux release for this great event.
 
IGA members have participated regularly over the last years and have enjoyed the hospitality and the beautiful course as well as more than our fair share of the prizes.
It’s a good 2 hour drive so you may need to arrange a hotel in Clervaux or at the new hotel on the course. Usually we can get Tee times around 11:00 for people who travel same day.
Next day Tournament planned in Luxembourg.
We need to enroll as the IGA with approved handicaps.

MENS - LADIES
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

Despite torrential rainfall and a flooded course that reduced the championship to 23 holes, 33 of our members turned out and contributed to an exciting and rewarding Club Championship.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW 2010 IGA CLUB CHAMPIONS

They were the most successful in defeating the challenging weather conditions.

Also a special mention to our new 2010 Champions Nett, Reilly Sutton and Doris Sandmann

They will all be honoured at the IGA Club Banquet in October.

A big thank you to all you sturdy weather proof IGA golfers for braving the elements...liquid sunshine and we didn't even need to get the 1 iron out!

Fellow Golfers, 
I am pleased with the progress of our members entering their scores online, 225 rounds so far this year. There is only one small problem. Gentlemen, it seems that 40 or so rounds that were entered were played from the front tees, i.e. Red in Brunssum. So please be careful when you select the course you played in the drop down menu online, you will see Red, Gold, or White at the end of each Brunssummerheide course selection.
